Potassium Permanganate (KMn04)
The oxidant is delivered as a dry powder >97% pure and mixed with water at room temperature up to a 5% solution for injection. The powder can be diluted on site and, for larger quantities, can be mixed and delivered to the site in a tanker truck via our site-ready solutions service. As potassium permanganate is more difficult to mix on site, off-site blending is often preferred for this oxidant.
Potassium permanganate is a pH neutral solution that does not release gas or create heat during reaction with contaminants. Further, potassium permanganate can be added to excavation pits before backfill to treat groundwater flowing back into the excavated area. This is a great way to ensure that your remediation project is successful.
