Bioremediation and Bioaugmentation for Groundwater and Soil Contaminants
Hepure supplies environmental remediation products, including bioremediation and bioaugmentation solutions to transition from chemical to biological.
Let our product support specialist help you decide which bioremediation approach is right for your site or how to best integrate biological with chemical approaches.
Hepure has the experience to determine the best approach based on project site characteristics. Our bioremediation and bioaugmentation solutions can seamlessly take the remediation transition from chemical to biological.Case studies Request a Quote

Emulsified Vegetable Oil Substrates
Our patented Renewal family of emulsified vegetable oil substrates begins with a set of common building blocks, which include:
- A slow release carbon source of vegetable oil (U.S. grown soybeans)
- A fast release carbon source of at least 4% lactate.
- A proprietary nutrient package with yeast extracts, nitrogen and phosphorus to support growth of the anaerobic microbial population
- A proprietary emulsifier package, which is customized by product
- At least 250 µg/L B12, which He et al. 2007 demonstrated is an important micronutrient to enhance dechlorination activity.
Small Droplet Emulsified Vegetable Oil (EVO) – Substrate for Maximum Radius of Influence
The anaerobic bioremediation process uses native or introduced microorganisms to degrade chlorinated solvents such as tetrachloroethene (PCE) and trichloroethene (TCE) to innocuous end products including ethene and ethane. An organic substrate must be added to the groundwater to generate reducing conditions and provide the necessary carbon and hydrogen to support biodegradation of the chlorinated solvents.
Hepure provides a patented, nutrient enriched, proven slow release emulsified vegetable oil substrate that is used extensively by the Air Force, DOD, Navy, EPA, Drycleaners and Private firms to remediate chlorinated solvent sites and is designed to release bio-available hydrogen over a period of 3 to 5 years thus enhancing the long-term anaerobic biodegradation of the chlorinated solvents.
Large Droplet Emulsified Vegetable Oil (EVO) – Substrate for Maximum Retention
The anaerobic bioremediation process uses native or introduced microorganisms (Dehalococcoides) to degrade chlorinated solvents such as tetrachloroethene (PCE) and trichloroethene (TCE) to innocuous end products including ethene and ethane. Renewal-FRL Large Droplet Emulsified Vegetable Oil Substrate includes an anionic emulsifier, which sticks to soil particles and is specifically designed when adherence to the formation is key to making contact with the bacteria. It is particularly useful in high groundwater flow formations such as fractured bedrock formations and is added to the groundwater to rapidly generate reducing conditions and provide the necessary carbon and hydrogen to support biodegradation of the chlorinated solvents.
