Sodium Permanganate
Sodium permanganate is a liquid chemical oxidant used to treat chlorinated solvents in soil and groundwater. Available as a 40% solution, it offers higher concentration flexibility than potassium permanganate.

Overview
Sodium permanganate (NaMnO4) delivers the same permanganate ion (MnO4⁻) as potassium permanganate, with identical oxidation chemistry. Because sodium permanganate is more soluble (40% vs. 5%), it is easier to use and more flexible for injection applications. It is preferred when high-concentration delivery and minimal water handling are priorities. Hepure’s sodium permanganate is produced exclusively for environmental remediation and consistently tested to ensure the highest quality with the lowest mineral content.
ISCO with Sodium Permanganate
In Situ Chemical Oxidation (ISCO) with sodium permanganate is a safe, cost-effective, and rapid remediation technology for the treatment of VOCs (e.g. PCE, TCE, DCE, VC) in groundwater, soils, and sediments. Permanganate is typically active for a few weeks to a few months depending on site conditions. Successful applications depend on achieving contact of the oxidant with the contamination.
Delivery & Packaging
Hepure has relationships with product distributors positioned throughout the United States, allowing us to provide competitive shipping rates. Typical packaging for 40% sodium permanganate is in drums, totes, or tankers. Our relationships with chemical blenders provide clients with the opportunity to receive chemicals made to order and ready to inject at the desired concentration.
