Water Hardness Treatment

Hepure provides sodium hydroxide and other water treatment chemicals for addressing elevated hardness in groundwater and industrial water systems.

About Water Hardness

Water hardness is caused by elevated concentrations of calcium and magnesium ions in water. Hard water can cause scaling in pipes and equipment, reduce the effectiveness of treatment chemicals, and interfere with remediation processes. Sodium hydroxide (NaOH) can be used for pH adjustment and lime-soda softening to reduce hardness, improving conditions for downstream treatment.

pH Adjustment with Sodium Hydroxide

Hepure’s remediation-grade sodium hydroxide (NaOH) is used for pH adjustment in water treatment systems. Raising pH can precipitate calcium and magnesium as insoluble carbonates and hydroxides, effectively reducing hardness. NaOH is also used to optimize conditions for other treatment processes that are sensitive to water chemistry.
